About Me I have been teaching at Lakeland Village for 5 years. I spent one year in fifth grade before moving to middle school. I instantly loved teaching 6th-8th graders. Middle school is a crucial time for self-development and I feel that if you can positively shape a student's view of school at this age then it will stick with them for life. I am married with 3 amazing children. We love traveling and hanging out at the beach. We also love to hike when it isn't too hot. We have one dog and one new puppy who has kept us very busy. I am really looking forward to the new school year and getting to know everyone! |
Classroom Community
Having a strong classroom community is essential for student success. I work very hard to ensure that my classroom is a safe place for students. Students should be free to take educational risks and make mistakes. They should feel comfortable in respectfully expressing their opinions and should be tolerant of the opinions of others. Our differences and unique qualities make the world beautiful. Making other students feel uncomfortable or unwelcome in any capacity will not be tolerated.
Technology Use Agreement
Technology is a powerful tool that enhances learning and enables students to access a nearly infinite number of academic resources. My goal is to increase student access to digital tools and facilitate immediate access to technology-based information. In the past, students have been able to use personal devices in the classroom to ensure a 1 to 1 device ratio. However, we now have a class set of iPads so students will no longer need to use their own devices in the classroom. Cell phones are to be in the students' backpacks at all times. Students may be given permission to use their phones under special circumstances.
