PLUS is an elective for 7th and 8th graders. PLUS students are personally chosen to be part of the elective. Their role on campus is to be peer leaders. This means they have a responsibility to make good choices, show empathy towards others, be academically and socially responsible, and to set an example for all students on the LVS campus.

School ClimateThe main objective of PLUS is to improve school climate. A positive school climate increases students' sense of safety and belonging. We want students to feel supported both academically and emotionally at LVS. Our PLUS students will use student surveys to identify areas of need and create a plan to improve those areas.

Peer MentoringPLUS students are mentors for all students on campus. This means that they display good morals, make good decisions, and respect themselves and others. As part of the PLUS elective, we will be working with younger students on campus in order to foster relationships between middle and elementary grade levels. In addition, we will be hosting fun activities during select lunch and recess periods in order to promote a positive climate.

Community ServiceEngaging in community service provides students with the opportunity to become active members of their community and has a lasting, positive impact on society as a whole.
Volunteering teaches students to feel empathy and allows them to give back to society. Our PLUS students will be doing various community service projects throughout the year. |
