Our Social Studies curriculum is History Alive. The majority of the class will be project-based learning. Using knowledge to create a representation of something you have learned is one of the best ways to ensure true learning! Projects will consist of creating posters, designing board games, making models, and creating multi-media projects. Most of these will be done collaboratively. At times, students will choose their groups (especially when it is required to do work at home), while other times I will assign group members. Working collaboratively is an important skill that students must learn and will use throughout their educational career. In addition to projects, students will be writing, reflecting, and using a blog to communicate what they have learned. Each student will have their own blog page and will be responsible for adding to their page on a weekly basis. |

HomeworkHomework will consist of finishing blog assignments and projects that were not finished in class. There will be some nights when your student has no homework if they have managed their class time well and have finished all required assignments.
